Drum Method books and more

In the German part of this part of the my web site, I have given quotes about the following method books that we either use at Drummers Institute or I highly recommend. Because of shipping expenses, it would not make any sense, to purchase any books by ordering from my web site if you are living abroad – so I am afraid, not to offer this service from the English version of my web site.

However, you can have a look at all those books that I have listed, to get an idea of what I am using. If you have any questions to any of the books or would like to order if you are located within Germany, please feel free to get in touch with me.

The service that I am offering through this procedure, is to coach and help you to the best of my ability if you work with one of the books and run into a problem. At least I can give you some advice, where to find help.

There are thousands of books on the market – some of them great, some of them not so great – however, this is a selection of my favorites! With a few, I have worked forever – such „Afro-Cuban Rhythms for Drum Set“ written by my friend Frank Malabe or „Big band & Ensemble Playing“ by one of my main teachers Steve Houghton. There are other books that I use at Drummers Institute such as Antonio Adolfo „Brazilian Music Workshop“ or Walter Grassmann „Vienna Big Band Machine“ – so many students have worked with this methods and really improved.

There are definitely more books that should be mentioned – for example it does make sense to work with the playback books of Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Simon Phillips and alike. It is also great to get more in depth with Vinnie Colaiutas style by using  „The UnReel Book“ written by Robert Atkinson, to get a deeper insite of Latin or Latin Soloing by checking out more of Phil Maturano books or Garibaldis „Tima Funk“ – it´s endless.

I will for sure add some more books to the following selection – but for now just simply have a look!
